Fabulous Friday Find: Fourth of July Edition

It's hard to believe that the 4th of July is less than a week away. Where has June gone??

Luckily, browsing Etsy for pretty little patriotic goodies takes the sting out of the quickly fleeting summer!

For today's Fabulous Friday Find, I'm sharing several things that would make for adorable additions to an Independence Day cookout or party.

{Just click the picture to take you to the item in the shop!}

How about some patriotic {and eco-friendly!!} stars & stripes biodegradeable cutlery from Tulle&Twig?

Or a rustic burlap table runner from Blondiensc to add some vintage chic to your dessert table?

Speaking of desserts, how cute would these cupcake red, white, and blue fabric toppers from EllaJane Crafts be perched atop a sweet treat?

There are just so many things to choose from to add personality to your party!

Will you be hosting your own Independence Day shindig, or will you be attending someone else's? Any creative crafts, treats, or details that will be making an appearance? Do tell!

Fabulous Friday Find: Key West Edition

Just a quick post this morning as the hubby and I are headed out the door for Key West mini-vacation to celebrate our anniversary! (And I'm still half asleep. It's not even 7 a.m., folks.)

Every beach vacation requires a good beach bag. Something roomy enough to carry the essentials (sunscreen, beach towel, a cover up, snacks, mindless reading material... and that's not even taking to account the stuff for those of you who have kiddos!), but cute enough to make you actually want to carry it.

I loved the look of these bags from Lucky Dot Designs' shop on Etsy!

Tell me you can't picture youself sipping a frosty tropical drink with one of these by your side! ;)

Will be on the lookout this weekend for inspiration and crafty ideas in the Keys (even though I have a feeling we're in for a torrential downpour or two)... Have a great weekend, everyone!

Roxy's Rosettes!

I had intentions of spending some serious time crafting this week, especially because it's beyond time to add some new items to the shop. Instead, I spent a lot of time doing everything but.

This week wasn't completely devoid of craftiness, however, because I did take a little trip to the craft store with a friend to buy materials for some handmade headbands she's making for her baby girl that will be here in August. (SO exciting!)

This friend of mine, who claims she isn't very crafty at all, used some online tutorials to make this:

Roxy, modeling this season's latest.
Adorable, right?! (The headband, not the dog. We already know she's adorable.)

Anyway, the whole fabric rosette making thing got me to thinking about some other things you can use them for since I'm not planning on making baby headbands for personal use anytime soon. ;)

You'll have to stay tuned and see what I came up with!

Speaking of the soon-to-be addition to our group, here's a picture of the baby shower gift I painted for Baby Girl K.

Isn't it sweet? As much as I had an urge to sneak some pink in there, I resisted and used colors that match her crib bedding instead. (It's kind of refreshing to see aquas & blues for a little girl's room, isn't it?) And, of course, I had to add a little Gator to the frame since she's being born into a University of Florida Alumni family. Go Gators!

(As always, if you want to purchase a custom frame, contact me through my Facebook page or Etsy page which are easily accessed through the tabs at the top of this blog!)

Since it might be a while until I share my crafty rosette idea, I'll leave you with a link to a fabulous site I stumbled upon that gives 19 different ways of making fabric & ribbon rosettes.

What would you make with these?

The Girl Just Loves to Blog...

Hello there!

So, I've been toying with the idea of starting Behind the Pink Curtain for a while but a few little things held me back from hopping to it right away.

1. I already have pretty labor intensive blog that takes up a LOT of time over at The Kitchen Prep.
2. Life is quite busy at the moment.
3. Who in their right mind is going to care about what inspires me, what I'm currently painting, and who I'm painting it for?

But, I went against all doubts and pushed that taunting little "Create New Blog" button anyway.

I figured that if I don't have time to blog... I won't.
If I have other things going on... I'll do them instead.
And if no one cares to read it... they don't have to!

Nothing like "no pressure" to get you to pull the trigger. ;)

I can't tell you what will be showing up on Behind the Pink Curtain because that is yet to be determined by all the fabulous things out there that inspire me... some that I've yet to discover!... but I can tell you that you'll be getting a sneak peak into the inner workings of my little noggin with regards to my Etsy shop, Tickled Pink Crafts.

I'm super excited to have a place to share all these things and hope you'll come on over every now and again and share some of your current obsessions, too!

As always, feel free to pop over to my shop page on Etsy, or visit my Facebook page.

And to get your weekend started in a crafty frame of mind, here's a little summery eye candy for a series I'll be doing on Fridays called "Fabulous Friday Finds"...

Love, love, love this nautical bracelet from Little Jar of Hearts' shop!

(Have a Fabulous Friday Find you'd like to share from your shop, someone else's, or your arsenal of crafty projects? Message me on Tickled Pink's Facebook page and it could be featured!)

Stay crafty, my friends! ;)
